He's Growing

We took Caleb to the doctor today for a check-up and immunizations. Caleb is thriving according to his doctor. He weighs 13 pounds 1/2 an ounce and he is 22 3/4 inches. Then came time for his shots. He got two in the legs and one was done orally. I wish in this modern day that all immunizations could be given orally. It would help both the babies and their parents. I sat with Caleb while he got the shots. As soon as he got stuck, he started crying hard and he looked at me with his big eyes with big alligator tears coming out of them. It almost seemed like he was asking me why would you do this to me? It was heartbreaking but I'm glad he made it through them. When we got home he was a little cranky and his legs were sore, but he did pretty good.

A warm bath always seems to soothe my babies after shots. His little legs will be tender, but he'll be fine. Good job being a brave momma! I know women who have to leave the room when their kids get shots.
