For Christmas Eve we were with my family (minus Tiffany, Greg and Evan). We had our great, traditional dinner (ham, twice baked potatoes, mom's homemade rolls, etc...) and I read the Christmas around the World story to the family. Then we each got to open one present, in order of course. In our family we put a number under each person's plate and that is the order we open presents in. I like doing that because then everyone can see what everybody got. For Christmas Rodney and I got up and opened our stockings. We bought a couch and chair for our living room so that was our Christmas to each other. Then we went to Steve and Tracy's for breakfast. It was yummy and it was fun visiting with everyone and hearing what they had gotten for Christmas.
After that we headed back to my parent's to finish opening presents and to visit wi
th everyone. The best part of the day was when Taylor, Dax, Derek and Kaden opened their present from the family. They got a Wii and they were so excited. It was hilarious to watch their reactions. They got it set up and started to play bowling. When they would get a strike or spare we would cheer and clap. Soon the twins joined in. They would clap above their heads and jump up and down. It was so much fun watching them. (If I can ever figure out how to get videos off of my camera I will post it).
About 3:30 we headed over to Rodney's mom and dad's house. We opened presents and then the extended family started to come. We had a delicious dinner and then sat around and visited. It was a nice, relaxing evening and overall a great Christmas.

I completely forgot about the numbers under the plate. Although with just three of us it isn't really important, but it's tradition, and I love that tradition. I think next year when I do it I'll just rig it so a certain someone gets #1. I just can't imagine making him be last!
That is such a fun tradition! I just might have to steal it. :) Except we never open presents with family. Just the two of us. :)
A new couch and chair? ooo.... why didn't we think of that? I would love that! Oh yeah, and where are the pictures?
A Wii? So fun!! Bowling is the best, except I always lose. lol.
