Blessing Day

Today Rodney gave Caleb a name and a blessing in sacrament meeting today.  Usually the babies are 1 or 2 months old when this occurs so they don't do much during the prayer, but since we weren't able to do the blessing till the adoption is final, I was a little worried he would make noises or try to grab the microphone.  Caleb was so well behaved during the prayer.  He started to make a little noise but then quieted down (I found out later that my dad started to do this noise Caleb likes).  Rodney did a good job (even though he was a little nervous).  Some of the blessings told to Caleb were:
  • his family loves him
  • he would be an obedient child
  • he would serve a mission
  • he would be married in the temple
  • he would know and seek Jesus Christ
Caleb had many family and friends to be there for this special event.  Both sets of grandparents, Steve & Tracy's family, Troy & Brook's family, Cory & Taeko's family, Tiff & Greg's family, Darryl & Jenna's family, Norm & Jill, Kamie & Dustyn & Gage, Eric & Rebecca's family, Ed & Liz's family.
After sacrament meeting was over, we had a lunch for those that were able to come to the blessing.  Jay & Misty's family and the Torres family were able to join us then to celebrate.  It was great having all of our family and friends together to help us celebrate Caleb.
