Last Hoorah!

The week before Rodney and I had to go back to work we headed up to Utah to visit Tiff, Greg and Evan. Troy and Brook and their kids were up there at the same time. It was a great week. We did lots of stuff but still had some time to relax. We all got up there on Sunday night and just visited. Here is Derek helping Greg with a puzzle.
On Monday we went shooting on some of my dad's property near the mountains. The kids did pretty good hitting the targets and I even got a couple of good shots. Tuesday the kids went to "the farm" where the neighbors have some horses, chickens and sheep. They all got a chance to ride a pony (Kaden refused) and then later that day we went up the mountain to Community and helped Troy set up camp for his family.
Dax (in upper picture) and Taylor and Evan riding one of the ponies.
Then we went fishing. Each kid was able to catch a fish, some more than one, and most of the fish survived and were released.
This is the fish Kaden caught with his Scooby Doo fishing pole!
Two didn't make it, so they were cooked for dinner. We ate dinner at the camp site and then roasted marshmallows when Tiff, Greg and Evan got there. Troy's family camped out there but Rodney and I went back to the house. We might have stayed but we had an appointment the next day in Sandy to talk to an adoption agency. Since things are going slow with family services we have decided to explore our options and look into other agencies and since we were in Utah, we decided to visit them. So on Wednesday, we headed up to Sandy with Kamie and Dustyn and talked with the agency. Kamie gave us the names of a couple other agencies that we've been looking into as well. After the appointment we went to IKEA, had dinner and then went to a BYU women's soccer game with Troy's family. After the game we went to a yogurt place called Red Mango. YUM!! I am excited to know we have one here. On Thursday the grown ups went to the temple and did a session. That night Greg made us some smoked pork butt. It was delicious!! They put that with lots of fresh veggies from their garden and it made for a great dinner. Then we had homemade cobbler for dessert. We headed home on Friday. I was sad to leave for many reasons: one, it was cooler up there; two, it was nice to not worry about stuff; three, I miss my sister and her family; and fourth, I would have to go back to work.

Is it just me or does that picture of Dax on the horse make the horse look miniature? How is that possible? Dax is usually the one that looks miniature.

As for missing us, you just need to come visit more often. 5 hours is really not that bad. We're worth it!
