So once again I'm feeling totally stressed out. Why may you ask? It can't be time for report cards or other testing, right? That is correct. Unfortunately I have found another way to become stressed. How about have some surgery that can knock me down for two weeks up to eight weeks (if it's laproscopic only two weeks. If it's not, down for eight weeks. I'm hoping for laproscopic). So that means I need to prepare for a substitute for an unknown amount of time. Luckily my principal has helped and found a sub for me so all I have to do is get everything ready. That means I have to plan at least four weeks ahead and try to have all the materials ready so the sub will have an easy go. Then if I'm out longer, I can prepare the other stuff when I'm starting to feel better. It wouldn't be so bad but in the time I will be out there will be a Valentine's party and the 100th day of school. Both being special events that a seasoned Kindergarten teacher frets about. Plus there is the DIBELS testing at the end of February. I'm hoping a person fresh out of student teaching will be able to handle it. So this week is going to be crazy trying to get everything ready. Maybe my face will start to clear up at the end of this week. By the way if there is anyone who gets bored after Feb. 9 I would love to have some company. Let me know!!

Okay, I am totally worried about you now:-) I need to call you! I will totally come visit you! Are you going to be in the hospital for a few days or just overnight? Let me know if you need anything! Is your phone # still the same?
As far as I remember, you're only required to leave 2 weeks of sub plans, any more than that is the subs responsiblity to plan. Don't let Mr. G guilt you into any more! Now I know that you want your kids to be well taken care of and that you want them to do all the fun stuff just as if you were there, but I think you just need to minimize the special days coming up. For Valentine's day, don't do the jigglers and layered dessert. Just ask for cookies and juice. Keep the projects easy too. Then for 100th day, I wouldn't have her do centers at all. Just cut out the 100 dot picture and the froot loop necklace completely this year. Just do whole group activities that are simple. Don't even devote the whole day to 100th day activities, maybe just 45min. or so. I have a new activity that I did this year that is perfect for whole group. I'll e-mail you.
How did I miss this post?!?!?
I hope that everything went well. Let me know how you are doing!
